5th Lions head to Queen of Peace Tournament (12/5) The 5th
grade Lions basketball team heads to Belleville Queen of Peace for an opening
round game on Dec 13th at 7:30pm. Please check back to see how the Lions
performed and when they will play their second round game.

Lady Lions take 2nd place at Christ Our Rock Tournament (11/19) The 7th grade Lady Lions brought home a 2nd place trophy
at the Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School Tournament in Centralia on Saturday. For a full recap please see the Lady Lions section of the website.

Lady Lions bring home individual honors (11/19) Makenzie Silvey won the CORLHS free throw contest during the tournament making 20
out of 26. In the team 3 point competition Suze Jezek, Makenzie Silvey, and Lorren Walther also brought home first place. The trio won in a second shoot

Makenzie Silvey tops 1,000 scoring mark (11/1) 7th Grader Makenzie Silvey topped the 1,000 career point mark on Nov 1st vs Sorento. For
complete coverage please go to the Lady Lions Basketball section of the website.

Basketball Games added for 5th Girls, 5th & 6th Boys (11/1) Please update your calendars to reflect games added on Monday Nov 28th. The evening will
begin with the 5th grade Lady Lions hosting Queen of Peace (Belleville) beginning at 5:30pm. The 5th grade boys will play Q of P at 6:30 and the 6th grade boys
will play Q of P at 7:30pm.

Lions Runners Bring Home 3rd Place Trophy at State (10/15) The
Lions boys cross country team, competing in only their second SIJHSAA state race, brought home the school's first SIJHSAA state trophy, by finishing
3rd place on the hilly Bryan Memorial Park course. The Class S cross country race course is located in Salem, IL and the Lions runners had a team
score of 175. Members of the boys cross country team include: Luke Cox, Xander Valdez, Luke Foreman, Jimmy Whitaker, Kevin Cushing, Michael Cushing,
and Casey Foreman

MCS Runners Have Strong Individual State Results The Maryville Christian School cross country team had one runner from both
the boys team and the girls team finish with a Top 10 finish at the Class S SIJHSAA state meet held on Saturday October 15, 2011. Addie Moore,
a 7th grader from Collinsville, finished in 8th place with a time 12:47. During the boys race Luke Cox, a 4th grader from Troy, finished in
9th place with a time of 11:30. This is only the second year that the Lions Runners have competed in the
SIJHSAA state race, and this marks the first time that MCS has placed two individuals in the top 10. Also finishing in the top 20, on the girls side,
was 8th grader Alana Moore. Both Alana Moore and Addie Moore are daughters of MCS head coach Mike Moore. Congratulations to the Lions coaching staff
and all members of the Boys & Girls Cross Country team on an outstanding season.
