At MCS, we believe that competitive athletics are an important component of a well-rounded Christian education. The purpose of athletics is to develop discipline, sportsmanship, teamwork, and perseverance as well as combine students’ God-given abilities and gifts with newly acquired skills to form healthy habits that can last a lifetime.
The motto of Maryville Christian School athletics is: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,” --Colossians 3:23
We desire for MCS athletes to exhibit humility during competition, have a coachable spirit, play intensely, pursue excellence, and test the limits of their abilities.
The attitude of the heart among all those connected with the sports program (athletes, coaches, parents, fans) at MCS should be – I want to make Jesus look good. Such an attitude will mold and shape Christian character.
